Scrap-a-layout Challenge:
Scrap a Layout Challenge in the forum

Let's see some beautiful layouts again this month in the gallery. Every time we run one of these challenges we get some really beautiful layouts.

1. Take a solid or lightly printed background and about 1/3 down one side make 4 small boxes.
2. In 2 of the boxes put solid color and in 2 of the boxes put photos.
3. Now put some decorations under all 4 boxes and one on top of each of the boxes with the solid colors.
4. Now 1/3 down from the top on the other side of the paper put 2 paper strips.
5. On top of the paper strips put 3 photos.
6. Using an Alpha set put a title below the 3 photos.
7. Now put a ribbon down the side under the photos.
8. Finish it off with some more decorations placed under and around the 3 photos.

Place your layout in the gallery and then come back here and place a link to your layout.

If you complete this Challenge you will recieve this Kit from Acorn Designs.

“A Natural Earth” Blog Train.

The Natural Designs in Scrapbooking designers and creative team have created a gorgeous collaborative kit, a collection of wordart and enough quickpages to fill an album. NDISB’s April Blog Train collaborative kit, “A Natural Earth”, is a kit inspired by mother nature and her rich colour palette and wonderful textures. “A Natural Earth” is a tribute to Mother Nature Herself and was also designed to help celebrate Earth Day in true Natural Designs in Scrapbooking style.

Read to the end of the post to get your coupon codes to pick up my quick pages for free! Additionally, each of my quick pages have a coupon included for 25% off any of my products in my store at NDISB.

In response to our customer’s concerns regarding possible safety issues of some third party file hosting sites the NDISB store is hosting the blog train contributions. Easter Happenings

Happy Easter! Or whatever holiday tradidtion you should happen to celebrate! I really meant to have this posted earlier, but I've got two daughters and their partners, and their babies in from out of town... additionally, two grandchildren had birthdays this weekend! On a positive note... my living room is cleaner than it's been in years! I finally got all the excess stuff out and scrubbed the floor! I still have to clear off the shelves and my desk, but it's coming along nicely! I even rearranged the living room so there was room for 5 little boys to spread out their sleeping bags for a sleepover. Needless to say, I'm one tired grammy!

I finally finished my Inspired Love kit and it can be found at both NDISB and DXD. I had a lot of fun creating this kit, and yes... my OCD is shining through! There are 21 papers, 27 bows, and approximately 40 additional elements!

Stop by and pick it up. Along that line, here is a beautiful little freebie that was made by Robin Ackler. She is such a talented designer and I feel lucky to be able to count her as one of my friends. Thank you, so much Robin, for letting me use this and distribute it on my blog! I'm really hoping she joins the team at DXD! I LOVE her work!

Well, it's February 1st & how about that! I've already got my template challenge posted at both DXD & NDISB! It's a fun template this month, in the name of love. Not only is Valentine's Day this month, but also my 16th anniversary with my hubby. We got married on the radio along with 65 other couples. It was fun, and unique. There were people there in blue jeans and boots, others in nice outfits, and still others in full formal wedding attire! I wonder how many of them are still married today... might be kind of scary to find out!

I'm probably the world's worst blogger. Perhaps I need to put that down as one of my goals for 2009 - blog more frequently. Or perhaps I could just hire someone to do it for me... any takers? I absolutely HATE to blog! I never know what to say, nor do I know which freebies to put up on the blog! If I found someone who is willing to do it for me, I could pay them in freebies. Perhaps I could also find someone to package my kits and submit them to the stores for sale. (Sigh) I'm a great detail person, but only if they are details I enjoy. Unfortunately blogging, packaging, and uploading are not things I enjoy doing.

Wow! I never thought it would happen! I am now a designer at Digi by Design. I've been on the Elements Team, hosted a chat, and hosted the template challenge there for ever (it seems). But, evidently, perseverance pays off! TJ and Beth are managing the site for Andy (the owner) and they hired me as a designer! I'm over the moon! Now, my digital creations will be at both NDISB and DXD!

Well, isn't this amazing? I don't think I have EVER managed to blog two days in a row! Or, if I have, it's been so long ago I've forgotten! So far today I've readied Mom's meds for the week, brought over her laundry and thrown it in the washer, prepared dinner and started it through the cooking process, and now I'm blogging. Wow! Who am I and what have I done to Laura? he-he! For the rest of the day I need to work on my homework for my Human Capital class, send out an ad through the group for the challenge, assemble my portion of the mega kit for NDISB, work on my challenge kit for the Template Challenge at DXD, go to the store, finish fixing dinner, work on some Quick Kits for DXD, and perhaps make a qp or two along the way.

For those of you who talk to me in IM land... that class I was so worried about... I finally got an A in it! I was sweating bullets after receiving an F on two papers at the beginning of the class. I guarantee you, if that instructor had not been replaced, I would have failed that class (and so would most of my classmates), and then I would no longer be eligle to participate in the Master's Program. I am SO glad that didn't happen. I only have six months of classes left. It's going to be intense for that amount of time because the classes are getting harder!

As many of you know, SBP has suffered some huge problems over the last year. Since they are having unresolvable server problems right now, I told Kat not to worry about re-opening my store when they are back up and running. Although I haven't sold anything there for quite awhile, and it made no sense for her to have to pay bandwidth to keep my stuff in a store, it was still quite a wrench for me to have to make that decision. SBP was my home base for the last three years. I'm not saying I won't still help in the background, I just won't be a designer there any longer. For now I think I'll concentrate my efforts on producing more items for my store at NDISB and hopefully gaining a store elsewhere (location to be disclosed upon acceptance... and not a minute sooner!).

Well, I need to get myself in gear and start some work on homework and designing... so here's a little gift. I'm sorry, there are a few minor flaws in the kit (jagged edges on the dino framewhen enlarged, a little blur on a piece), but hey... it's free! Someday perhaps I'll have the time to completely re-do this kit and perhaps be able to sell it. It really is a funkit! It just wasn't quite perfect enough to make it through the elimination round for the contest I entered it in... and of course I didn't know that until it was too late to fix the problem. Oh, well... onward & upward I always say!

September Template Challenge

Well, we all know I'm probably the world's worst blogger! I don't know if it is because I don't think anyone wants to read about me, or if its just because I'm uncomfortable writing about me! Or it could just be that I'm so blasted busy all of the time I never have time to write!!! It's actually a combination of all three.

I started a new job at the grandbabies school this week. I'm supervising children at lunchtime and on the playground for about half of my shift. Then in the afternoons I help out in two different classrooms with reading and spelling. Still too early to know if I'm going to enjoy the job or not, but I do know quite a few of the kids and most of them are happy to see me. Not all of them, but I can live with that!

Here it is the late middle of September and the template challenge at Digi by Design has only gotten one entry. I guess I need to send out an advertisement through the group to generate some interest. Is there anything special you ladies would like to see in the posting bonus? That is my greatest downfall in designing... I never know what to put in the darned kit. So many people want different items and I know I cannot please everyone. Life takes a number of unforseen twists and turns. I guess that is what makes it interesting! I now have a little more time on my hands; so, hopefully I will find more time to post to my blog!

Ok, folks. This is kind of scary! Here it is May 31st & I've got the template ready for June. I've even uploaded the template to 4 shared & the preview to photobucket! Who am I and what have I done with Laura? lol. I like the bold bright variations to our primary and secondary colors. Clean, simple lines make this an easy template. For those of you who create 8.5"x11" pages... there are psd & png files for you as well. I'll post links tomorrow to the forums (after I've posted the challenge in the forums).

I finally quit my day job! It needed to be done a long time ago. Mom has gotten progressively worse over the last 2 years (ever since we moved her across the street from us... the move was a bit much for her). I really couldn't afford to quit my job, but last November I added a second part time job to my schedule. At least I'll still have the income from that to help sustain me. I have to keep the 2nd job. It's a lot easier to leave mom on her own for 1/2 - 3/4 of an hour than to leave her alone for 5 - 6 hours. The kids are there with her until Kenny comes home.

My boss offered to let me bring my mom to work with me, but that really wasn't an option. I quit to spend time with my mom, not to have her sit with nothing to do in a strange place. If I wanted her to sit with nothing to do, I would've left everything as it was. Mom was just sitting & staring off into space most of her day, every day. She was also doing some fairly odd things... such as turning off the freezer, ruining between $500 & $1000 worth of prime cuts of beef! She has forgotten how to make coffee (something she's done every day for well over 50 years)! So, it was time to stay home with her. I will NOT put her in a home! She took care of me when I needed it, so I need to take care of her now that she needs it.

Leaving my job was kind of a bittersweet experience. I've been there just 2 months shy of 15 years. They've kind of been my port in the storm. A constant in a rapidly changing life. However, there were many things about the job I really did not enjoy; so it wasn't as big of a wrench as I anticipated it being. I served out my 2 week notice and then came in for 2 additional days to help train my replacement. The boss lady had all kinds of other things she wanted me to do while I was there. On Monday I went ahead & did those extras, just for something to do. On Wednesday she had another stack of stuff for me. I told her, "I'm just training", in a light voice. I was just kidding around. Guess she didn't take it as such, cuz she got all kinds of ticked off! She stomped off & said she'd do it herself. Oh well, what is she going to do? Fire me? So, I got in a whopping 5 hours last week training. Won't that be a huge paycheck! he-he.

After 15 years, she didn't even say thank you for 15 years of dedicated service! Nor did she say good-bye, or even I'll miss you. In fact, she didn't even open my thank you card to them while I was still there. It "accidentally" got "brushed off" onto the floor. Needless to say, I put it back on her desk before I left. Then she escorted me out the door & buzzed open the gate for me & closed it behind me (something she's never done before). It was almost like she was telling me that since I no longer worked for them, she couldn't trust me not to pass through her house & yard any longer. It ticked me off, but more than that... it hurt my feelings. I've put those people before my own family quite often. Of course, this last year I've had to take more time from work to care for my family... i.e. doctor's, dentists, and therapist appointments, as well as working a 2nd job so I couldn't stay as late each day at job 1. So, I guess she thinks I've gotten quite the return from them as well. I wish them the best of luck. But, at the same time... I KNOW she'll never be completely satisfied with anybody else who ends up working for her. Most people today don't adhere to the same work ethic I have, nor do they put forth the level of meticulousness (is that a word?) I tend to exhibit in my professional life.

The Template Challenges are Up!!!

OK, ladies... its time to get going on the April Challenges. I have Template Challenges at NDISB & DBD. Same challenge at each location... however, you must post a different layout at each to get the posting bonus for both locations. If you use the same layout at both sites... you'll only receive one posting bonus. Sorry, but I've had people post the same layouts at two or three sites & expect to collect all of the posting bonuses. I have to do extra work to give different gifts at each site, so I think it is entirely fair that people who want those bonus gifts need to do something different for each site. It only seems fair to me. If I'm wrong, please let me know. Here is this month's template:

I was in a springtime mood when I created this template. Have fun with it and be sure to post your layout in the challenge galleries and a link to the layout in the April Template Challenge Forum for each site. It's good to be back home!

Well, I'm home! I realize I haven't written for a long time to tell you what is going on here, but last week I went to Florida for my youngest son's wedding. All I can say is I love him and I'm proud of him, but it is sooooo good to be back home.

I was amazed at how fast everyone drove and by the sheer volume of traffic! It took a minimum of 5 minutes to get out on any street while we were there. If the speed limit said 55 mph, everyone drove 80 mph. People would cut across four lanes of traffic to make a left hand turn. Simply unbelievable how people drove there.

The weather was great while we were there (until the last 2 days). Lots of sun & warm (compared to the snow, rain, & ice in Iowa). We had fun at the beach in Bonita Springs. Spent a half day at the Zoo in Naples (go if you ever get the chance... it's a little pricey, but a really nice zoo). And the best thing we did while there was an airboat ride in the Everglades. I did learn how to tick off an alligater & what happens when you do! Did you know that swamp water really stinks? And a 13' gator can splash a lot of it on you when he's trying to get away from a crazy airboat captain! Got some great pictures, and had a blast! Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to go to Disney World, there was too many things to do & not enough time to do them... imagine that!

I'll be back in the swing of things around the first of the month. In the meantime... check out the last few days of my template challenge for March at NDISB and DXD. If you get your layout posted before midnight (CST) on March 31st and post a link to it in the Template Challenge Forum, you will receive a posting bonus. There is a different posting bonus for each site, so enter a layout both places. The only thing I ask is that you post different layouts at each site. Wow... has it really been that long?

OMG! I've been working at my 2nd job now for 2 months & have not had the time to post at all! I'm gone from home an average of 12 hours a day. When I get home, I'm so tired I just flop into bed! The plus to that is I've lost weight! Whoo-hoo!!! I've gone from a size 14 to a size 8-10!!! I did get a little discouraged tho at the dr's office today. I think their scale is off! How can I go down 3 dress sizes & only lose 4 pounds? Not possible. I had to have lost at least 10 pounds!

Had a car wreck today. I was on my way to work this morning & this kid pulled out of Menard's parking lot & t-boned my truck. Now everyone who knows me, knows I'm as anal about my truck as any guy! I LOVE my truck. Now it's sitting in pieces in my driveway (literally in pieces). He hit me so hard that he twisted my rear axle, broke the rear leaf springs, twisted the box, knocked out my drive shaft, and did something to the motor (it now makes a REALLY odd noise). This kid failed to yield the right of way, but yet I got a ticket because I couldn't find my insurance card in the truck. I'm not surprised I couldn't find it... the tools that were in the back seat ended up on the front floorboards!

I just got back from the dr's office & she says not only will I get stiffer (which I already knew), but my headache will also escalate! I told her she was just a regular little harbinger of good news and joy. She smiled.

I Did It!!!

Whoo-hoo! Life is grand... well, at least hectic! I finally got another job last week & it wasn't even one I was looking for! My school called me and asked me if I would like a part-time job working in their IT department. Of course I said yes! So, now I'm working two part-time jobs and getting almost full-time between the two jobs! I work on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at Mermaids & Monday through Thursday at Penn. What this means is basically this... I leave the house at 8 am each morning, and seldom get home before 8:30 pm each evening.

Hopefully, this explains WHY I have not posted any freebies lately. Oh, that plus I've been terribly ill for about 3 weeks! I was beginning to think I had to die to get better! I'm on my 2nd round of antibiotics, but I am finally starting to feel human again. The bronchitis kicked my butt good & proper! What a way to start a new job! One of the office ladies took to spraying disinfectant spray around the office to kill the germs from me coughing! It was actually kind of funny!

My son is supposed to move home from Texas in the next couple of weeks. Wish he would hurry up! I miss him. My other son is ill in Florida... some kind of infection in his ears and something else... don't remember what it was... bad mom!

Laine is doing great in school! He's once again top reader for his grade! In fact the school had to start an advanced reading group just for 4 of the kids because they were so far ahead of all the other kids' reading level. He has a bit of trouble with math, but I'm sure it will come.

Payton is failing at school. We're still trying to get a regime that will help with her mental disabilities. Unfortunately, she is going to have to go on stronger meds. The herbal regimen worked at first, but no longer help. I really worry about putting her on psychotics at her age. If they're the wrong meds they can really mess her up for life.

Well, enough for now. I'll write more later.

Oh how funny! And not funny ha-ha, either! I'm 2 for 2 today! I went to the second interview and there was a sign up saying the office was closed. I figured it was lunch time, so I'd wait... and wait... and wait... :) well, at 4 minutes till 1:00 pm I became a little concerned so I called them. She was at lunch, so she called the boss to come meet me... called me back & let me know he should be there in about 5 minutes (he was at lunch too). Well, almost 15 minutes later he pulled in. They gave me an application to fill out that came complete with a test! I guess they wanted to make sure I can count... hehe. I can... did most of their easy little test in my head. Only needed a calculator for 2 of the problems (and that was just to check my math).

Went in to be interviewed and found out the bookkeeper position has already been filled... imagine that! However, he had another position he thought I would be good at... IF I get the job, I'll be a rental agent (basically). My job would entail marketing, sales, and customer service. Half of each day I would spend in the office making calls to potential renters (returning calls, not cold sales calls), and then every afternoon I would go around showing apartments and houses to potential renters. I would also be in charge of maintaining the existing rental accounts... i.e. doing nice little things for tenants to keep them as tenants. I think I can do this! Especially since it pays fairly well! Considerably better than I currently make! Well, it's time to go pick up the babies! I'll write more later.

Well, here we are... another day in the life... hehe. I had a job interview today for a "Benefits Coordinator". Sounds like a position in Human Resources doesn't it? That's what I thought too! Unfortunately, that's what I get for thinking! I didn't look for this position, they called me (they got my name from a jobs website). They looked over my resume & thought I looked like a good candidate for their position. You know, it would have been great if they would have explained what type of position a "Benefits Coordinator" was before I drove 30 miles to interview with them. I could have saved a lot of time, trouble, gas, and frustration. If I had known it was a commission only, sales position when they called me... I could have declined then & there! As it is, I got all gussied up, drove 30 miles, filled out their application, and THEN found out it was a sales position. What a waste of time! Oh, well!! Life goes on!

I have another job interview this afternoon, but I know what type of job a bookkeeper has!!! Plus, I've got my resume submitted for an office manager position where my daughter works. It's not that I want a full time job, but I need one to help pay the bills (especially since sales are slow in the digital scrapbook arena). Maybe tomorrow I can get a freebie posted for everyone. It's been quite the week!

I really need to make an effort to post on this blog more often! This is one of the tasks I always put off until I have more time. Unfortunately, I never seem to have more time.

Last week I found out the YMCA wanted to build a 150 bed men's facility just over a block away from my house. While I realize these men need a place to stay, I also realize the center of a residential neighborhood is NOT that place! So, I went to work. I had 1000 copies of the neighborhood meeting flyer made; then the neighbors, my grandkids, my hubby & I went out in the neighborhood & passed out the flyers to the entire neighborhood. Nobody knew anything about the meeting prior to last week. Best kept secret in town... imagine that!!

The meeting was Wednesday. We had an impressive number of neighbors show up for the meeting. They Y officials were rather surprised (I think) that we were not willing to accept their proposal with open arms. Of course none of them were willing to build the facility in their own neighborhood! Unfortunately, not everybody kept a level head; but all in all we managed to convey our displeasure with the idea without anybody getting violent. So, that is a definite plus!

During the meeting I was interviewed by television reporters. Then yesterday I spent most of the day talking to newspaper reporters. The article will be in the paper tomorrow. Guess that will give me something else to scrap! I told them, this isn't about me... this is about my neighborhood, about the community. It's bigger than me, it's bigger than them.

Seriously, this facility needs to be built, but it needs to be built in an area that is designed with them in mind. Low density in residences & high density in jobs. That creates a win'win situation for everybody. Put them in an area that has the resources their residents need. You know, things like jobs, public transportation, employment agencies...

For those of you who asked about my husband & my stepdaughter... both are doing fine now. My hubby is back to being ornery as ever & has full use of his entire body again. However, his knees are still bothering him (due to weight rather than the stroke). My stepdaughter is going through some type of treatment program for the cancer. Still don't have all of the details, but she is in good spirits.

Now, for the fun news... my kit is the promotional item for purchasing $10 worth of product from the Digi by Design store.

What a horrible weekend!

I'm usually a pretty positive person. However, this weekend has kinda dimmed my light. Last week was not a bad week. It was extremely busy and there was no time for anything extra, but not really bad. That all changed on Friday. Friday morning my stepdaughter called me. She lives halfway across the state from us. She had been trying to get ahold of us for a few days because she found out that she has cervical cancer. She is only 20 years old. The really horrible thing about this (although the cancer is bad enough) is that she's been trying to find out for almost a year what is wrong with her. For a year she has been having pain and symptoms and the dr. would not run any tests because she did not have any insurance. He waited until she had insurance to do ANYTHING! What a piece of crap he is!!! So now she finds out she has probably had this cancer for a year and of course it has gotten progressively worse because it has remained untreated! She's all alone at her home while we're talking & crying. My husband calls home while I'm talking to her so I have to tell him what is going on. He tells he to have her call him at work, so I did. He calls me back a few minutes later and lets me know that he's on his way across the state to get her. I support the decision whole heartedly.

So now, I have to decide. Do I stay here with my family during this crisis, or do I fulfill a prior commitment? I'm scheduled to leave town at 4:30 pm Friday to go across state (the opposite direction, of course) to run the music for our memorial dedicated to remembering our military heroes who are MIA/POW/KIA. This is a major commitment. I call my ride to let him know what is going on, & he tells me don't worry about it. We'll figure something out (but in the meantime I feel like a total piece of buffalo dung for letting down my team). So, I wait for hubby and daughter to make it home to see what they want me to do. Hubby is not feeling well, and assures me he'll be just fine. I want him to go to the doctor because he is so lightheaded. He refuses to go to the doctor. They both tell me to go on my trip, I'll be back the next day. They can muddle along without me (probably better than if I were here). So, off to Rock Island I go.

The presentation went well, I also got to meet some really great people. We stopped for lunch after completing our presentation and I get a phone call from my daughter. She's watching the babies for me while I'm gone and she asks me how much longer I think I'll be gone. Of course my knee jerk reaction is that something has happened to the babies! No, she tells me, my husband is in the hospital. They think he's had a stroke! OMG! I'm three hours away from home. No ID, no keys to my house, no keys to any of my vehicles, and dependent upon other people to get me back home.

After numerous phone calls back and forth, and three hours of driving, I am finally able to piece together most of the story. Kenny and his daughter went to a few garage sales on Saturday morning and went to breakfast. Kenny has NO feeling in his left side, nor can he see out of his left eye. She is driving him around & is worried about him; so, from the garage sales they proceed to the urgent care center. The dr. there wants him to go to the hospital via ambulance. Tells him he's had a stroke. Kenny declines the ambulance and tells the dr. his daughter can drive him to the hospital. Then he proceeds to drive himself to the hospital! Nobody calls me until my stepdaughter goes over to my daughter's to pick up Boomie to take him to a birthday party. So, obviously my daughter called me.

I got to the hospital just in time to go up to his room with him. He was in the ER for around six hours. He is NOT a good patient. He kept insisting they would have all of the tests ran the next morning & he would be out riding his motorcycle by the afternoon. Not likely! It is now Sunday evening and he is still in the hospital. They are not sure whether he had a stroke, or if its his heart, or if he has a bloodclot. They are running tests and have more to do tomorrow. So now he is insisting that he has to go to work tomorrow afternoon because he traded shifts with a fellow employee. Somehow I do not think he will be at work tomorrow, nor even the next day.

I am exhausted from spending most of my time at the hospital. I tried to take his daughter home today because she is scheduled for some type of procedure tomorrow morning. She piddle farted around all day, wasted about 2 1/2 hours of time (both hers and mine), and then decided she wasn't going home today. I wish she would've let me know that a few hours earlier. I might have my homework done if she had. She has decided to reschedule the procedure now. I tried to talk her out of it, because the longer she waits, the harder it will be and the greater the risk. However, the plus to it is that I'm going to bed early so I can deal with all of this tomorrow. Good night.

Okay, everybody. Round 2 voting has started & I'm in desperate need of votes! I've got 8 votes so far, so I'm pretty far behind the front runners. But there's still time to make that up! The competition is pretty fierce right now. Round 2 started out with 28 designers and we are now down to 19, mainly due to quality issues. However, like the first round there is somebody who didn't follow the rules. I just don't get it! The rules are pretty straight forward and easy to follow. If you have a question, just PM Stacey or email her & she would be glad to explain. There are still 19 lovely kits for free download at the site, so be sure and wander over there & download them. While you are there, place your vote (hopefully for me, but if not, then for one of the other designers). Click on the preview to go to the Round 2 gallery to upload all 19 of the lovely kits. Did I mention they are FREE??? I believe you may still download the kits from round 1 (but I could be mistaken). Check it out while you're there.

There's just one more week to go until I start back to school. Not bad for an old broad! Working on my Master's Degree in Leadership (a business degree). I should be finished with it in about 18 months. Then I get to start teaching at my school when I'm done. I am soooo looking forward to it! It's been fun being out of school for the last few months, but I'm starting to feel like I'm stagnating!

The theme this month for the challenge reward kits at Digi by Design is Class Act - things relating to school or succeeding. I got a little carried away with this kit. If you participate in the Template Challenge you will receive the main kit. If you post a second layout using the bonus template, you will receive the matching bonus paper pack. Not too shabby if I must say so myself! :)

Well, I'm probably one of the world's worst bloggers! Not only do I always forget to post anything, I don't really have anything to say much of the time! You'd never know that one of my strengths is actually written communication! I never know what people would like to hear about and fear that if I write about myself & family all of the time nobody will want to read my blog, so it would be great to hear from you about what you would like to read!

OKAY! Here goes! This week marks a turning point in my career as a designer! Beth & TJ of Acorn Designs have been awesome mentors and friends to me over the last few months. Without their guidance and friendship I would probably have given up designing completely! They have taught me soooo much about designing. I realize I still have a long way to go, but I will get there someday. The persistance is beginning to pay off. I enjoyed my highest sales month ever last month (yep, I just might clear $100 this year... hee-hee!), and I now sell my quick pages in 4 stores (Scrapbooker's Playground, Natural Designs in Scrapbooking, Nic Nac's Designs, & Dragon's Lair Designs), I am on the elements team at Digi by Design, and sell my kits at SBP, and will be selling additional items soon at NDISB. As of yesterday I have been asked to be a designer at Scrapper's Zone which is ran by my friends Marta (MIP Scraps) and Nichole (NicNac's Designs).

Life is hectic!

I know, it's been quite awhile since I've posted anything here. I thought that life would calm down and even out when my schooling was finished (temporarily finished, anyway). However, this was not to be the case! If anything, I am even busier! Last month there were 3 graduations (including mine), and finishing up the yearbook for the kids' school. So far this month there has been 1 wedding, and 3 deaths in the extended family. I'm beginning to feel like I will never have any free time! Every time it looks like I'll have a spare minute, someone comes along and fills it up with a request for my attention. I really need to learn to say no!

I Finally Created a Blog

Things have been very hectic for me since I finished school. I thought once school let out, I would have all kinds of free time. Guess that's what I get for thinking!

I've spent a great deal of time learning how to design. So, I thought I would offer a freebie here to give people an idea of some of my work. It is actually a see-through vellum, however the photo did not come through well. This piece will be available in my Celtic Spring kit when it comes up for sale.
